Susan M. Thibeault is board-certified as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). She is available to review cases and provide objective opinions for both plaintiff and defense.

Susan is a full-time clinically practicing CRNA in a large university affiliated hospital system in southern Connecticut. She is engaged in patient safety and quality improvement and has served as the Lead CRNA for Quality and Safety since 2020. Susan is passionate about education and frequently delivers CRNA educational presentations and serves as a clinical preceptor for student CRNAs. She specializes in anesthesia for general surgery, ambulatory surgery anesthesia, and non-operating room anesthesia (NORA) such as in the cardiac electrophysiology labs, endoscopy, and interventional radiology settings.

Susan received her board certification in 2004 and engages in continuing education and maintenance of certification requirements. She received her Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesia Practice in 2020 from the Yale New Haven Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia. She is licensed in Connecticut as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Registered Nurse, where she presently resides.

Current Practice : Susan provides anesthesia care for general surgery, ambulatory surgery, and non-operating room anesthesia (NORA) such as cardiac electrophysiology, endoscopy, and interventional radiology settings.

Specialty Focus: Susan has special interests in the areas of patient monitoring for respiratory compromise with capnography and for awareness under general anesthesia as well as anesthesia for breast reconstruction with deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flap procedures.
